Who are we? 1st Response Training LLC is a Disabled Veteran–Owned Small Business committed to empowering individuals with the lifesaving skills needed to protect, sustain, and potentially save the lives of both people and animals. Founded in November 2022 and proudly based in Shelbyville, Indiana.

CEO/Lead Instructor – Brian Burgin, LPN, NREMT, is a 26‑year U.S. Air Force Veteran with clinical experience in acute care, ventilator management, and Heart & Vascular services. He has been an NREMT since 2018, an AHA Instructor since 2022, and an American Red Cross Licensed Training Provider since 2025. Brian is accompanied by his service dog Kane, a trusted partner since February 2023.
