The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course is designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, maintenance workers, school personnel, hotel housekeepers, health and fitness club staff and tattoo artists. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction.

OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogen standard (29 CFR 1910.1030) outlines safeguards to protect workers against health hazards caused by bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. Requirements address exposure plans, universal precautions, personal protective equipment, housekeeping, laboratories, hepatitis B vaccination, post-exposure follow-up, hazard communication and training, and record keeping.
